Prior to completing session 3 of Flight Path, Rise, you’ll need to complete the Flight Path Inventory. This inventory is a collection of assessments that we’ve found to be helpful in thinking about how you were uniquely created and how you are being called to serve at Bama Wesley and beyond.
What You’ll Be Taking
SHAPE stands for Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences. In this inventory, we’ll capture your passions, your abilities, your personality, and the experiences that have formed you into who you are today.
You may already be familiar with the StrengthsFinder inventory created by the Gallup organization through your classes or work which helps to identify the ways in which you are naturally gifted across 34 distinct themes. If you haven’t already taken it, you’ll do so as part of the Flight Path Inventory.
Finally, you’ll complete the APEST inventory. Taken from the spiritual gifts identified in the book of Ephesians (apostle, prophet, evangelist, shepherd/pastor, and teacher), APEST identifies your spiritual gifts and how they can be used in the life of the church.
Tips for Completing the Inventory
- Be sure to allow plenty of time to put some thought into your responses – we encourage you to allow up to two hours to complete the inventory. At any time you can stop and return to pick up where you left off.
- Your results and responses are confidential, and will only be shared with our executive (pastoral) staff, our pastoral intern who leads the Flight Path sessions, and your Spark, Ember, or Phoenix Group leader (you’ll learn more about these during the Flight Path sessions).
- If at any point you have questions and would like to speak with one of our pastors, they’d love to meet with you. Click here to book an available appointment.
